The Weekly Tone

When you're well-rested and in good physical health, your mind is sharper, your decision-making process is clearer, and your productivity often increases. Your body, like a well-oiled machine, works in harmony to support the high-level functioning of your mental capacities.

Duh. No surprises here.

However, when you're tired, the fine print of life become overwhelming.

The minor inconveniences of everyday life, those tasks we dread, become magnified in their intensity. This is when things start to break down, and it's also when your problems become glaringly apparent.

Why is this the case?

When we're exhausted, our tolerance drops. We're less inclined to accept what's not working and more likely to notice the cracks in the system. That messiness we would willingly ignore on a good day suddenly becomes unbearable.

And this is a brilliant gift.

In this state of fatigue, we're forced to confront the reality: are we spinning our wheels? Are we throwing good effort after bad? When we're running on empty, we simply don't have the energy to sustain ineffective behavior.

This is why paying attention to our state of mind when we're tired is crucial. It's not a signal to push harder or ignore our exhaustion. Instead, it reveals what isn't working.

It's an opportunity to adjust and adapt if you listen closely.

The next time you're feeling worn out, instead of pushing through, take a moment to assess. What isn't working? What needs to change? How can you ensure you're taking care of your physical and mental well-being effectively?

Remember, your health is the foundation upon which everything else is built. It’s not a luxury; it’s a necessity.

This shouldn’t be news to you.

But when you screw-up, whether it’s an all-night Netflix bender or a trip to your local watering hole with a few too many—pay close attention the next morning and take note.
