Use Jealousy As A Tool.

How to Learn From It.

Hello again, Squad.

The Really Rich Journal

brought to you by:

Now as a comprehensive digital course.

It doesn't do any good to compare yourself to someone you don't know.

Compare yourself to who you were six months ago instead, and keep working.

The Weekly Tone

I recently heard someone define the much-abhorred emotion of jealousy as "wanting something someone else has, but believing, underneath it all, that you're not worthy of receiving it."

That could be the car, the new job, the partner with sparkling white teeth that you just saw your friend show off on social media.

The good news is that you've just received critical information. It's actually pretty challenging in our noisy, digital-marketing-inflated society what you want or don't want in the first place. Certainly, you shouldn't be ignoring this valuable emotion as much as your parents, elementary school teachers, and ex told you to.

Let's put innate intelligence, chiseled jawline, and future earning potential aside for a moment that may push the chips in one direction or another. Is there really anything out there, that you're simply not worthy of receiving?

I think not.

Perhaps we should reset our self-worth, well before we reset our nose to whatever grindstone is set out before us. We may find the burden lighter afterward.

It would be awfully hard to achieve anything big if you didn't believe you were the kind of person worthy of achieving big things.

Challenge: Pay attention to the pangs of jealously and ask yourself "why?" until you get a suitable answer.

This week, I'm taking meetings in Miami, FL.

The Really Rich Spirit

By G.B.

On Gratitude:

The Really Rich are grateful. Whether they know it or not.

The science behind the benefits of gratitude is clear. People who deploy gratitude in their life rake in greater happiness, stronger connections, improved health, and create a strong self identity.

In the spirit of Peter Thiel, going from zero to one is the game, not a facet of it. Any tool that lets you take one step is worth it, gratitude is a tool that lets you take ten.

Oh, and it’s free.

Why not take five minutes of reflection a day or journal in the morning or thank the ones you love? The spirit of gratitude comes in a million forms, it doesn’t matter which you do, it matters that you do, whether it's in the shower, on the golf course, or between meetings.

Gratitude sets a frame around your perspective. Like fine art, a good frame can make the whole piece look even better.
